The FIRST weekly pick

I want to get back into blogging about our farm life, after taking a break I’m able to refocus on the parts of blogging I miss. Here is my FIRST EVER weekly pick, and hopefully not my last 😏 Skim through, hopefully there is something here for everyone…

Farm life

Memorial weekend is the unofficial kick off to summer, right!? I’m feeling it deep in my soul! I may have even started the school countdown, 13 days to go for our kiddos, how about you? There hasn’t been much happening in our field’s and no planting yet, but fingers crossed this week will change that! Here is what DID happen around here though:

Milk Means More wanted a farm family photo for a project they’re putting together, this ONE was NOT submitted, but goes down as a top contender 🙈
Two new babies, one bull and one heifer, both momma cows are doing good 💗
Let’s do this!
I’ll update later

Sometimes friend, family, AND strangers comment on us not being able to vacation…. hear me loud and clear when I say this life is a lifestyle and it’s the kind I don’t need a vacation from. Yea we work every day, but there is down time too! What did you do over the holiday weekend?

Friend’s blog

The Farmer’s Wifee shared a blog post this week and I want to share it with you, check it out! How Does This Dairy Farmer Deal With Loss of Life by The Farmer’s Wifee

“In the past almost five years, I have been told on several occasions that I need to toughen up. If I am going to survive this business I need to get used to it. The saying, “if you have livestock, you will have dead stock” is often thrown in my face. But I am here to tell you that I do not want to “toughen up”. I don’t want to “get used to it”. I don’t ever want to feel like an animal that dies on my farm is ok. That it is just the way of life and that is how it goes. Why?”
