A little bit lost

Once we flipped the calendar to July summer became a blur, it’s like that every year though and I’m sure I’m not alone in saying a feel a bit lost in these last few weeks of summer vacation. On the farm It took most of the summer but we’ve got all our fields planted, and looking ahead to next spring we should be sitting good for cow feed – we just gotta make it through winter. We’ve said this before, almost every year for the last few because our plans and goals keep changing. We’ve talked a lot this summer,…

Tractor maintenance and chocolate milk

We started off dairy month with the Surline PTO Color Run and gave away 300 pints of chocolate milk and FROZEN Go-Gurts. This is my FAVORITE way to interact with my community because it’s all about informing families of the powerhouse that is dairy! Here is my FIRST EVER weekly pick, and hopefully not my last 😏 Skim through, hopefully there is something here for everyone… Farm life Memorial weekend is the unofficial kick off to summer, right!? I’m feeling it deep in my soul! I may have even started the school countdown, 13 days to go for our kiddos, how about you? There hasn’t been much happening in our field’s and no planting yet, but fingers crossed…

Best barn books – winter 2019

Chores have taken a turn; I’m doing more on the farm from the tractor seat and by myself; working dirt and hauling manure, milking cows and feeding heifers. I love it – but what I’ve found I love more is listening to my books on audio while I do my chores! I have always enjoyed reading, but then the job and babies took priority and finding time to sit and fall into the latest novel just didn’t happen… until I tried my first book on audio, and then I was hooked. I want to share my current 5 favorites with…
